custom boot animation for Sg3

I have boot animations from my droid x. I was wondering if anybody knew if I can use the same boot animation for the Sg3.
Any input would be great. Thanks in advance

Since Android is Android, the should work fine, and may even be stored in the same folders and with the same filenames. I don't have a SG3 so I can't say for sure, but I am sure someone will chime in. You do need to either be rooted and use a root explorer, or be rooted and use one of the boot animation utilities, but then you probably already know this.

I used the ROM toolbox on the Droid X to change everything about that phone including the boot animation, and starting logo. Once you are rooted this toolbox will let you do about anything. Not planning to Root my GS3 yet, so i haven't tried it, but it shouldn't be a problem.

I did forget to mention that I am rooted and have both types of zip. I tried jimmy's root tools app and it didn't work with my Sg3.

I'm curious if anyone has changed boot animations on the stock rom for the S3. Samsung stores the boot animation as a .qmg file and not a .zip. I wasn't sure if it is a matter of converting the file, or if it's more involved.

I found out that you have to install a custom ROM that supports custom boot snimation inorder to change boot animation.
Then you install the normal way in system / media

You need a custom Kernel that allows it also.
