curiosity on upgrading 2.0 to 2.0.1 to 2.1 to 2.2

do i have to install all of the upgrades one before the other and if not is a rom the same as firmware. and can i get some nice sites to go to, to upgrade my phone. please. i kinda like the bugless beast. but is that something i can just install and then have 2.2 like that. please help

You do not need to do incremental installs. If you want BB then just install that ROM and you will be fine.

A Rom is the same as "firmware" when you're talking about your phone. Each Rom is loosely and sometime stricly based on a version of Android. Almost all of them are based on 2.2 "Froyo" at this point, some are being based on 2.2.1, also Froyo but also referred to by its build number FRG83D.

Roms are just a customization of current 'official' firmware from google or the phone manufacturers.
