CPU usage this morning

I have returned to throw another monkey wrench in the machinery!!
All week long at work I have to use 3G and it is spotty at best so I restrict background data.
At home most of the time I just leave it on 4G.
All last week major wake locks...yesterday it was over 9 hours of wake locks.
Today I am home....I switched on WiFi after I unplugged the phone.
It is 7 hours later and I have 3 MINUTES of wake locks! Media Server does not even show on the battery stats. The screen one and phone awake are mirror images of each other.
Soooo why would Wifi change that?

Here's my stats for the past day. Not a lot of use but I think I can count on it lasting for a day now. Remember this is a regular razr not a max.

Tricia do you have battery saver set up on smart actions or juice defender on your phone? From what you just said maybe the phone is staying awake searching for a cell signal.

I do not have Juice Defender. I don't use Smart Actions after the JB upgrade. I am starting to think the signal may be the problem. I do disable background data while at work because I know the signal sucks. No 4G and no wifi and apparently the 3G is not all that great either. I have noticed that the awake time appears to stop when I get home. Its only a total of 6 minutes today and usually by now it is over 6 hours. I thought about airplane mode at work but I need to be able to get texts and calls. I still get those with background disabled. I went thru all the settings again too to be sure that all the auto-sync was turned off - it is.

Im thinking if you used smart actions at work and disabled mobile data while the screen was turned off maybe that would take care of it. Its atleast worth a shot. You would still receive calls and texts and it would save you some battery. It would be interesting to see when you get back to work.

I am trying to do a smart action but can you have more than one trigger? When the display changes and during a certain time period are both triggers. Action is stop mobile data. I am not really smart at these smart actions.

This is what I have set... triggers are my display status changes to off and during specific time (set the times) monday thru Friday. Action is set mobile data off. Does this sound right? And I will still get calls and texts?

Yeah I think that sounds right. And yes you will get calls and texts. When smart actions is on just make sure when you wake your device you look at the signal meter, it should be white and there will be no 4g or 3g icon .it only takes a few seconds for it to reconnect.

I didn't put the phone is not moving because I do throw it in my pocket when I leave the office. I used the display changes. Handcent sends a popup that lights up the screen - I am assuming (correctly I hope) that this will trigger the smart action to restore mobile data? guess I never used these because I have never had a problem with this before.
Right now I have been on wifi for 8 hours and my held awake is 0.0% (10 minutes) for the whole day. I have used the phone too lol. And played some games and a couple calls and texts. I was really expecting the held awake to climb as the day went on but it really has not. The only difference in the phone is wifi not 3/4G.

Thats a good sign! Maybe when your at work its trying to search for a signal and thats what is keeping your phone awake. I use juice defender I set it to aggressive and let it do its thing. It turns my mobile data off until I unlock the phone. I also use handcent and the popup comes on as soon as I get a text. Hope fully that works out for you.

I am going to give it a try for sure! I sure do appreciate all the help I have gotten here! I'll let you know how this works out at work on Monday. I had always thought the LTE app and changing to 3G was circumventing the 4G problem at work but apparently not. I had sent a screen shot of my 3G signal to a friend and he said it looked like I walked into a lead lined vault because the signal went to the bottom on GSam's signal graph. Stayed there too for a while lol.
