couple of questions

Good morning folks. i am new to S4, and have a few questions. I had been an iphone person from day one, but grew increasingly frustrated with apple and decided to make the switch. i am very happy thus far, but I do have a few questions and i thought you folks might be able to help me out.
1. is there an external battery that has a longer life than the stock battery, but is the same size as the original?
2. are there wireless or wired external speakers for the s4?
3. can you take a screenshot using the power and home screen buttons if you have a passcode on?
4. i have an att phone and I cannot access the add/edit widgets screen. is that just a verison feature?
i am sure I have more, I just cant think of them at this time..lol
thanks in advance
Tony

Welcome to the forum.
I'm not sure what you mean by external that's the same size as the original. Do you mean a higher capacity internal battery? A true external battery that is Scott the same size but plus into your charging jack?
I use speakers that plug into my headphone jack on my Android devices or Bluetooth speakers.Again are you looking for speakers that dock the S4 like ios devices do?
Not sure on number 3 but I'd suggest give it a try. The hold both places might take a little practice so if you didn't get one the first try it might just be a timing thing.
On number 4, I have a Verizon Rezound so I can't answer that one either BUT with Android you can install different launchers (aka home screen user interface) that open up a whole new world of customizing. A few forum favorites are Nova, Go ,ADW and others may chime in with their favorite.
Hope that helps. Looking forward to more detail on the first 2 questions.

The answer to question #3 is "yes".

On question #4, what have you tried. Widgets are added by either (1) pressing an open spot on a home screen, selecting apps and widgets, selecting the widgets tab, and finally dragging the desired widget to a home screen, or (2) pressing the apps icon, selecting the widgets tab, and finally dragging the desired widget to a home screen.

Did you try either of the two above methods?

3. Yes you can (at least it works on the note 2, so should work on the s4 as well).

Is this the function youre looking for or is there something else?

Yu guys are the best! i knew I came to the right place. Thanks for the suggestions and I will try them out. About the battery, i didnt mean a true external. I meant a higher capacity internal battery that is the same size. I just dont want to have the back of the phone with that bulge from the casing for the larger capacity battery.

I meant when you go into the settings and try and try and go to lock screen then lock screen widgets, the only options i have are
favorite apps or camera (which is greyed out)
clock or personal message
edit personal information

Under lock screen options the first option should say shortcuts on or off. Click on shortcuts and see if you can long press one of them and change it. Im not on an s4 but it should be fairly similar to the note 2

This is coming from a Bionic owner (soon to be getting an S4) but the extended battery for the Bionic that would still fit in the same battery compartment raised it about 15%. If it's available that may be what you would be getting. It was $44 for that extra power.
