If Verizon was really releasing gingerbread on the 30th of this month just 6 days away shouldn't there have already been a leaked release available? Like I said I could be wrong but the updates are usually leaked on the net well before they are ota.

yes, usually we get the leak well before the official OTA, however i would never count out the possibility of it happening.
