Contacts synced with FB

I attempted to get my contacts FB pics to update, by unistalling the FB app, and removing my FB account from my phone in account management. I then reinstalled the FB app and re added my FB account to my phone. But I've yet to see all of my contacts pics return, and none of them are showing their FB status or any of that. How do I get my contacts to be synced with FB again so I can view my contacts status updates and what not
