Contacts do not show up

so i can enter a contact into the contacts but it will not show up and i can then not call the person. i know it is still in the phone because if they call me or something it does then list it as there name and everything as i had it entered. but for some reason it will not display new contacts? any ideas would be awesome this is very frustrating and i reciantly got a new contact that i MUST access but can not...

OK this is what you need to do. Navagate to your contacts then press menu key @ lower left screen. With menu open press display options. And press your Gmail account or what ever email account you have. When it opens check mark system group contacts & and all other contacts & press done. There you should have all your missing contacts. Hope this helps.

I followed these steps and any new contact I add will NOT show up. Any other ideas or suggestions? I've pulled the battery and rebooted but when I add my daughter's phone it will NOT show up in contacts. $#@!!

Follow up: When I select my Gmail account, there was one system group that didn't have a name...when I select that one my contact showed up. Weird. Oh well, it works now. Thanks for the help (from the quoted text above).

Try checking all the boxes and see what happens? You will have to do this on all email accounts on your phone if you have more than one.
