Contacts and accounts help please!

Just got my phone yesterday and they pretty much set me up but unlike my friends who have the phone my contacts go through gmail and theirs go through facebook. id like mine to do the same since i lost all my contacts when i switched phones. when i go to accounts and try to add and manage my facebook account it wont add but it will let me add a google account or corporate. when i click facebook it just goes back to the main screen.. any ideas?!

Do you have Facebook checked?
