Considering getting Droid X

Ok guys so here it is ive had the first two iphones and i was thinking about getting the new iphone but since all the antenna problems i think im gonna pass..... so here are my questions has anyone else who went from iphone to droid how do you like it which do you like better? If im eligible for upgrade on my ATT contract i can be done with them and sign up with verizon right?

I just switched from an iPhone 3G to the Droid X. There's definitely a learning curve but I'm liking Android. It's nice to be away from the Apple Walls.
I definitely like the Droid X better than the 3G at this point.

nice thats good to hear im coming from a 3g standpoint too. I have a question about the whole switching to verizon...was your contract up?

I was eligible for an upgrade at AT&T. I "think" I still had a month or two left on my contract though.
I did everything at Costco since they offered some savings from changing at the Verizon store.

I have the same exact question as the original poster. Did you get your droid? How do you like it? I have some additional questions below...

None of my music is DRM protected. Can the Droid X play m4a's and music I ripped and encoded with Apple's Lossless Encoder? Can I use the built-in media player for the droid?

How well does it sync to your mac using doubletwist? Do you just point iCal and the Address Book to use gmail?

If you buy through costco online, do they do a credit check?

I *think* that's about my only three questions. Thanks!

I really like the Droid X.
Yes it can play AAC as well as MP3. Yes you can use the built-in media player.
I don't have a mac.
I have no idea what Costco's credit check specs are.
Good luck.

I'm helping my girlfriend switch. Problems so far:
1)droid x keyboards were not to her liking. Solution: better keyboard from the market $2.99+tax
2)battery life. Solution: droid x gps/sleep bug requires gps to be shut off when you are done using it. Update should fix it. Also, activation came back w/ error so *228 required otherwise cell standby was draining battery.

I just switched from and Iphone 3GS and I bought out of my AT&T contract four months early. Each month that goes by they take 5 dollars off of the cost that it will cost to cancel early. And as far as the Droid X I love it and I am not looking back.

Switched from an iPhone 3G

1. I hated the messaging app, download HandCent (they have iPhone style and I like)
2. I really hated the dark interface in the beginning. It felt strange, so I changed the background image to something brighter. (Now I love the dark UI! I have the Droid X live wallpaper.)
3. The email app sucks on Android, but oh well.

Conslusion: It took 3 weeks before I completely forgot what my iPhone did! This was the turning point and I would never ever go back now. You really have to give the android OS a few weeks.
