Connecting phone to pc wifi issue

My phone antenna is garbage and won't pick up my router from my room, but laptop does. So I use my laptops wifi as the ap. I've tried hostednetwork but my phone stalls at the obtaining ip stage or authenticating stage.. Idk y it won't connect. Ip automatic, credentials correct, etc. it used to connect but stalls after a while till I rebooted PC. I tried conectify pro on PC and it works sometimes.. any reason phone stuck on those msgs n won't connect? Running 2.3.7

Have you tried doing a hard reset and then connecting to your PC?
