CM9 - Can't type?

Everytime I hit certain keys, it's an instant shortcut key. I was able to type in my gmail account, but after that, it's all shortcuts. Help?

I don't remember how it gets like that but if you press the magnifying glass button on the keypad it stops and you can type again.
