CM6.1 RC3 will not allow me to update carhome... install unsucsessful

like the title states.... I cannot install the new car home app. I like it way better than the one included in the ROM since it lets me change the shortcuts to what I want them to be... any help? please?/

Use root explorer to delete Carhomegoogle.apk out of /system/app, then you can install the market version.

What he said (alternatively you could use Titanium Backup). Also, you may have to reboot your phone after uninstalling.
