One of the more interesting accessories for the upcoming Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the extended battery. This battery is a decent 2100 mAh variety, which gives the phone an additional 13% power boost. That should be enough for a couple hours more daily usage. What's really impressive about this larger battery is that it isn't really that much larger, physically. It does include a new cover, but it only adds a little bit of thickness to the phone. This is a large improvement from typical extended batteries that turn your phone into a retro 80's style brick.

Does it have the NFC antenna like the original? Or at least raise it as a discussion point in your post.

=> A little more critical journalism please?

With the GNex not having the Google Wallet available, I might think the NFC antenna will not be on the new extended batteries, but who knows.

I too am let down by the 13%. If the pone lasts from 8AM to 9PM until off thats only about one extra hour, right? How is that worth 50 bucks?

gotta love how the phone's not even out yet and there's already an extended battery for it.

why wouldn't the phone ship with this battery as the default?

oh right. money.
