ClockWorkMod USB Tether app is VERY SLOW (<1Mbps)

USB tether using ClockWorkMod app is <1Mbps. And I've speed tested the phone itself, a Razr Maxx HD... up to 10Mbps (using Internet Speed Test for any Laptop, Desktop, Mobile, or Tablet Device), so the phone is not the issue.

Any help appreciated.

This is a 4G phone. I should be able to tether at 4G...

So is there anyone doing tether between a Razr Maxx HD and Ubuntu?

Okay, so far I've tried connecting the tether to other usb ports to no avail.

Sometimes I have to reboot to get the tether app on the lapttop to see the phone.

I'm now looking at "EasyTether".

I think the chief problem is that not many people are using Linux here.

Am I right or am I right?
