Ahh, the Chromecast. It's one of Google's greatest inventions, but that doesn't mean it can't get better. In fact, it just did. Google just started pushing out the newest update to the amazing little streaming device. This update brings their new Material Design UI elements, which makes it prettier and snappier.

That's not all though. Google also included an improved guest mode. It will now let your friends and family share to your Chromecast without needing to log-on to your WiFi. If you've tried out the new update, please sound off and let everyone know what you think of it.

If it could only support Amazon Prime.

I ended up buying a Fire Stick for that sole reason.

How can you tell if it updated? Guest mode sounds AMAZING. what all functionality does that have?

My Chromecast app updated to version 1.9.6. And it looks different when you open the app....it now has the same material design look like the G Mail app, calendar, Maps, Drive, etc.

I went with the Miracast Microsoft wireless adapter for the same reason.
Chromecast is limited to what they want to add to it.
Miracast is what ever you see on your phone is on the screen.

I don't like being limited to whatever someone else thinks is best for me.
