Chat App for the Droid2

Hello Friends,

I have a business website that has a chat feature where visitors may chat with us live. Is there a chat module app that will allow me to chat from my droid2?
I would prefer something third party because I do not have a gmail account. I am concerned about Google's security issues.

Right now I can chat when I am logged onto my website, but as soon as my phone goes to sleep I lose the chat feature.
