Can't type text

I can't type text in any of my messaging Apps. Anytime I tried this pop up,"unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped or messenger has stopped". I tried everything I could, wiped cache data, wiped cache partition, even hard reset my phone but I still can't text.
I am using Droid turbo xt1254 with Android 6.0.1 operating system.
Need help please.

Welcome to the forum. Have you tried putting your phone in Safe Mode and then attempt to send a text? When in Safe Mode apps you have installed from the Play Store don't load, only preinstalled apps will load & run. It's a good troubleshooting tool to see if a Play Store app is part of the problem. To boot into Safe Mode tap the power button as normal, then "Long Press" the Power Off message on the screen and select the Safe Mode option. See how the phone behaves and functions. To exit Safe Mode, power off normally and power back on. You may have to reenter passwords into some Play Store apps after using Safe Mode, that's the only drawback I am aware of.
