Cant type / text anything

Hey y'all, think this is my first post.

So my Droid 2 all of the sudden cant text or type at all. If I try to text, it spits out a few words, then stops, freezes, and then force closes. This also happens when I am trying to write an email. Basically, my phone went back to the 90's when all phones could do was talk...

No idea how or why this is happening. Don't really wanna wipe everything off of phone. Tried removing my downloaded GoSMS text and that didnt work. Tried clearing data in the standard text app and that didnt work. Removed my most recently downloaded app, still wont work. Please help, thanks.

I am having the same exact problem and ready to tear my hair out.

Based on some posts here, and some advice from a friend, I fixed it. I did 2 things.
1. Downloaded a new keyboard (Gingerbread + restart).
2. Long-pressed text input box and changed input method.
Working ok now.

>Look for "Multitouch keyboard" and click on it

>Clear Data

>Disable Next Word Prediction
