Can't set ringtone for Gmail notification

Anyone else having problems trying to set a ringtone for Gmail notification? I try to set one but the setting in Gmail still says silent no matter what I try.

Select your account in settings scroll all the way down to labels to notify, select inbox....this is assuming you are on the latest gmail

Yeah that's what I do, but even when I select a ringtone, it still stays on silent.

Appears to be an issue with the latest version of Gmail.

I even tried installing an older version of Gmail, still won't work for the ringtone notifications

I had the same problem, but solved it. You have to go to:

Settings -> Profile -> Configure profile (tap the profile that is selected) -> Gmail under Application Groups -> Notification Ringtone.

There you can change the ringtone for Gmail, SMS and other apps

Hope this will solve the problem for you guys
