Can't receive or send pictures through text messaging

I have had the Droid 3 for about 4 months now and this is the first problem I've had. Whenever someone sends me a picture, the download button will pop up but so will a red exclamation point saying there's an error. I've tried turning data off and then back on, connecting to someone else's wifi. . . I'm not sure if the network is over-loaded because it's Christmas or what, but I would really like to figure it out. Any suggestions? ):

My droid 3 is doing the same thing. My sister got a droid 3 the same day and is having no problems with picture messages.

after spending a couple hours on the phone with customer service, they had me factory reset my phone and it now works.
