Can't download files

I've had an issue whenever I try downloading files. For example, right now I just tried downloading a kernel zip. I get a download failed notification and it tells me "this content I'd not supported on this phone." It tells me that for all files for some reason. Anybody else had this or know how to fix it?

You need to download with another browser or use Astro File Manager, to allow all file types to be downloaded (in settings in the app).

Thanks Guidot, Astro file manager worked. Why can't it do that by default?

Not too sure. I'll see if I can't drum up some answers.

Quick answer, it seems to be some code in the browser or the site itself recognizing that you are not on a "desktop" computer, which is also why if you use a different browser (dolphin) it masks the user-agent which allows the download.
