Can you change the look of the ICS task manager?

I don't like the appearance of the task manager in ICS. The old task manager displayed 8 (or was it 10) apps currently running, so switching to another app was a breeze. The new task manager - the one that pops up when you long-press the home button - displays only 4, often requiring a scroll to switch to another app.

Is there a way to revert back to the old appearance of the task manager?

No, but the ICS version displays much more than 4. Mine is showing around 18 right now.

Does yours show 18 in one screen? Mine shows only 4. What it shows is the currently running apps with their thumbnail-size screenshots. Due to the screenshots, it can only display 4 at a time. It must be a Motorola or Verizon customization then.

No, not on one screen, you have to scroll. But then I still prefer seeing a thumbnail of the app and the action is the same. Touch it and switch to it. Now just more of the most recently used apps are shown...where as in Gingerbread it was limited to the most recent 8 apps.
