Can I remove the time from the notification bar?

I found a clock widget I like. I'm using a GoWidget clock and I like the way it looks. However, I don't see the point in having both a clock widget and the time in the notification bar. I've looked through the phone settings and the GoTheme settings, but I don't see any way to disable it.

Is there a way to disable the time in the notification bar without being rooted?

If you have GoLauncher, there's a setting that lets you show/hide the status bar. Problem is, that's not exactly what I want to do. There isn't a gesture that will show/hide it easily as far as I can see, and while I don't see the need for having two clocks visible at once, I do like the status bar and would rather not disable it completely.

Correction to my last post; there is a gesture to show/hide the status bar, but it appears the clock widget interferes with the gesture working properly.

Looks like I just have to get used to using it.

You can assign gestures to the dock icons also. I have my show/hide notification bar there since I use up swipe for all apps and down swipe for notifications.

Droid junk mods lets you customize the status bar including hiding the clock. Plus it puts toggles in the notification bar.mdw<bionic<mods
