Can I download direct from GooglePlay?

Can I download apps directly to my Droid X from google play via the usb cable from my desktop pc. I connect it up and it say will download shortly, but then nothing happens. thanks

When you "download" from the Play Store on your PC, it actually downloads on your phone. No cable needed.

Right. You need a data connection on the phone, WiFi or 3g. You can download from Play directly from the phone or from a PC. If you're on a PC, once you sign in to your Google account, anything you download will go straight to the phone.
