Budget of 250$-350$... What´s the best android phone I can buy?

I live in Portugal and I´ve been told that the Nexus 5 and the Moto X are good choices, but here (in Portugal) those two devices are way over that price range...
Can you tell me what´s the best android phone I can buy around 250$-350$?
I think the Galaxy S III is a good choice, but I´m worried it is going to be a little outdated...

I'm still using one, albeit with a custom ROM...
The non US ones got an upgraded CPU, so yours would be even better.
Why not go to a store and try one out?

those are the phones i would have recommended. hard to ask that when the price isn't in the US since 95% of people on here are US based. S3 is a good phone.

S3 is a good phone. You should be able to get the S4 for $350 now that the S5 is out. Or you may want to look at the new OnePlus. It's spec'd in the S5 range and is also around $300.
