Breaking: Droid 2 and Droid X will Both Have 1.0GHz Snapdragon Processors

The smartphone world freaked out a minute ago when the @Droidlanding Twitter account tweeted its first clue which mentioned that the Droid X actaully has a 1.0GHz Snapdragon processor. We were quick to question it as the rumors have been all about Texas Instruments OMAP processors to this point and to find out for sure, went straight to our sources who have been spot on from day 1.
And the official word? Both the Droid X and Droid 2 will indeed have 1.0GHz Snapdragon processors. Apparently Motorola worked very closely with the chip designers to get as much punch out of them as possible which might explain the ridiculous benchmarks we’ve been seeing.
No idea why the owners of that Twitter account pulled the Snapdragon tweet, but you can expect it to be back up shortly I’m sure.
Thoughts now?

If you feel that this should come with a TI processsor, tweet at them complaining. If these rumors are true, maybe if we can get enough protestors, it may change their mind.

LOL. This is some serious misinformation. If it is running the Snapdragon there would be no reason or for that matter differentiation from the EVO. I would just wait for the Galaxy S or Galaxy S Pro if that were the case. Better yet just get an Incredible.

COMPLETE UPDATE:

And we bring this post to a screeching halt.
Let me just confirm that it is definitely running the OMAP 3630 1.0GHz processor.
Yikes. At least our sources were about as quick as @DroidLanding to correct themselves.

Don’t hate me too much. At least laugh along with me on this one.
(Is it April 1st?)
