I just tried this the other day and ot works fine. Gb not rooted I tethered to my ipad and streamed netflix. Has anybody seen anything or heard anything about Verizon trying to charge for this. As far as I can tell unless they warn you before hand that charges may incur seems to me they couldn't charge you after the fact.
