BLOTCHES TEST RAZR .....concern?

So I've heard rumors of blotches on the screen. I decided to do the test myself and here's what I found: I took a pic in the pitch black dark with no flash. When I reviewed the pic in the dark, I noticed the blotches everyone was talking about. Its definitely there. However the normal views and pics are fine.......should I be concerned?

I'd say that unless you plan on a lot of photography in total darkness with no flash, then I wouldn't be concerned.

This seems to be an inherent problem with the type of screen used in the RAZR. Other phones with the same type of screen have the same thing. IOW working as intended.

Some blotches arent as bad as others....might be a chance some RAZR's dont have blotches at all. My screen isnt as bad as some pics I've seen. And yea...its an issue with Amoled screens in general. For some reason some issues that other phones have seem to only get magnified when a Moto phone has it...lol.

I would've never known this was an screen issue had I not read about it on a review .....I just hope it doesn't get worse the older the phone gets

There is no evidence I have seen that suggests it will get worse. And theres a moto rep on the moto owners forums saying it doesn't. Really only time will tell but I am not too concerned with it.

I just did the same thing but with no blotches.

There are some who report their screens free of these blotches and some who say they're visible while watching videos where there are scenes with dark backgrounds. I would suppose that if it's visible in a video it would be a concern worthy of possible replacement. I have them on mine however, and only know it because I went looking for them. I have yet to see them in normal use.

On mine, I didn't notice them. Then I did, and now I can't not if the conditions are right. Luckily I really don't use my phone in the ways where they show up too often.

I got my first Droid RAZR on the release date with build date 43/11. The screen had a redish tint, 2 vertical line blotches covering the left and middle of the screen, a dozen other blotches, and bad streaks visible on all solid backgrounds. In addition, the volume rocker and power button were completely loose. Verizon refused to replace it so I returned it and ordered a new one.

This new RAZR is much better (build date 46/11), and has only small blotches in the bottom corner which aren't that noticeable. In addition is the screen is clearer and brighter, the side buttons are tight, and the earpiece seems louder.

I'm much happier with the phone now.
