I was at a computer conference, and I noticed many people had laptops with something (sticker, post-it paper, etc.) stuck directly over the in-built webcam lens!
Why do they do this?
There was a story in my local news a few days ago about a mal-ware or virus that activates your web cam without you knowing it. I guess someone is trolling for co-eds to get their jollies. The advice was to put tape or a sticker over your web cam to prevent someone seeing you where or when you don't want to be seen
Hmm... Can any corporate sysadmin reading this please confirm if corporations install software that allow remote monitoring via the webcam on corporate-owned laptops?
