blackberry messenger for droid

Please please can I get BBM and it's crippled service, forced through RIM servers, to run on my super smooth and seamless Droid so that it may bring it to a snail's crawl, and my messages will be subject to outages that are an almost monthly occurrence, never knowing if my intended contact got them?

I'd also be interested in having Google change to RIMs update model. They should fix a couple things, break some more things, and overall not do much with each update. Then put it through a long approval process so that by the time it is released, there are already leaks like 50 versions after the official one.

It's a time tested model (RIM's).... it's not like anyone would leave BB for an Android device :icon_ devil: (only half this forum :greendroid:)

Do you remember this phone -> Nokia E61 Smartphone 75 MB - shared - Not specified - WCDMA (UMTS) / GSM - Silver

This is a Nokia that had a BlackBerry Application on it. It allowed there to be BlackBerry push email on it. I have also looked at other links like the Nokia E90 that has BlackBerry Connect 4.0 on it.

I do not know if that means BlackBerry Messenger, but I think it is a start of something.

I also agree about gtalk. I am trying to get all my friends (that I jumped ship on) to use gtalk. I have seen so far that ALL BlackBerry phones come with gtalk.

Maybe we'll have something close to that in the future...

I mean, we are in 2010, where are all the flying cars that were supposed to be here? Uh, We can't get Blackberry messenger for our DROID (or non-BlackBerry phone), I think it will be a while for the flying cars...LOL!!!

As much as I still like my 8310 (I was always on BES so BIS outages didn't matter) I can't see a BB Connect app for Android. The developer would have to work with RIM and there would definitely be licensing fees involved. Considering that Android devices don't have a PIN it's unlikely to work well.

I don't see the point in pining for BBM when there are more "standard" IM apps out there. Even on my BB I'd use BBM as well as Beejive.

Ding Ding Ding. Let's infiltrate BB. Push Google Talk on all your BB friends!

BB Messenger is the only thing people seem to miss from BB.... lol so sad.
Well and push email .... but its ok.
G-mail pushes for me :icon_ banana:
but I know all e-mail servers don't push.... so I'll give you +1 :)

You can, as I have, forward your pop email accounts to your gmail. Instant push email without having the battery drain of your pop account being polled every 5 minutes. You can also setup gmail to allow you to reply from any of these accounts through gmail.

since we have concluded that bbm is not going to work on android. is there anyone out there that can build a android only messenger similar to bbm?

why would you want an android only messenger?
i didn't even use bbm when I was on my storm b/c not all my contacts had blackberries. same thing now with the droid. why limit the number of people you can interact with?
