Bionic Camera Question

This almost seems silly to me...gugh...but I'll ask anyway.

For the stock camera...I don't think it's very clear in the SETTINGS of the camera on when you have the settings taking pics in 6MP or 8MP.

If the checkbox is NOT checked, then it says 8MP Images under WIDESCREEN.
Does this mean that the cam is currently set to take 8MP (because that's the subhead under the WIDESCREEN) or set to take 6MP (because 8MP is listed there to prompt you to check the box to select 8MP)?

If the checkbox IS checked, then it says 6MP Images to match the screen under WIDESCREEN.
Does this mean that the cam is currently set to take 6MP (because the box is checked and it states 6MP) or set to take 8MP (and the subhead showing 6MP is there to show you what you would be selecting IF you uncheck the box)?

Am I just getting confused way too damn easily here?
It just feels like an odd usability issue and it's not all that intuitive...

Help is appreciated.

I have a droid 3 but I think ur assumption is correct. If you check th box then it puts the camera at 6 mps. If u leave it unchecked then the camera will be set to take pics @ 8 mps. Don't know why this is the case but that's how it is.

Checked = 6MP and the same aspect ratio as the Bionic's screen

Not checked = 8MP and does not match the screen's aspect ratio (likely the camera's native resolution)
