I use Titanium myself but heard My Backup Pro is good aswell. You could also use Appbrain (FREE) as it syncs your apps to the cloud.

I used both Titanium and MyBackupPro, both work very well.

Yeah appbrain only syncs apps. Your contacts are backed up to Google so they would transfer automaically to your new device. Music is also backed up to google if you use Google Music but you can transfer those from current phone to PC then to new device.

Titanium Backup (Pro) has never failed me in 14 months of daily use , between this DX, my wifes DX and my DX2 (other line)..Insurance is very affordable with Titanium..

BTW..I have the (Pro) version of My Backup..I just never really could rely on this app. Althow I did give it a fair try..side by side with Titanium..failure to restore with "My Backup Pro" was common..For me..Titanium is more "see what I'm doing" app..Many options and methods to backup and restore..plus with Pro version..a very dependable scheduled backup is simple and regularly used here on our Droid's..would'nt think of loading a ROM without Titanium loaded FIRST..

I tried Titanium after using MyBackupPro for several months (I use to be a ROM junkie). I found Titanium to have a confusing interface whereas, MyBackup Pro was straight forward.

Back up apps and data before you wipe.
Wipe.
Use favorite Rom.
Sign into google market.
Install mybackup pro again (already purchased by you)
Restore your apps and data
