Beautiful Widgets Surprise??

It seems this LWP runs better on the new ADW launcher then Launcherpro..
I disabled the grass on both launchers and ADW seems to handle it well.

Agreed i had good experience with the updated one released today. I didn't notice any difference disabling/enabling grass though.

We released a new version today and a good setting would be:

Enable CPU Hog and Target FPS at 15FPS. Hope it helps!

Thanks, Tama. Updated and adjusting the settings now.

Yeah... Tama's LWP runs nicely on ADW. The grass made a slight difference not too dramatic.
Heh.

Back to using it again. Works great. Will monitor CPU and battery usage over the next day or two.

Nice to have this available. Good to be a BW customer. Thanks Tama!

I am having a bit of a problem......even if I choose NONE as a BW I STIII get another sun???? I do click "apply and save" when asked.....not sure why it is not working.....

The only thing NONE does on my homescreen it only changes the time to white lettering???
any ideas???

Thanks

EDIT...I got it to work...I uninstalled BW and installed again...must have had a little "bug" running in my droid LOL

I tried that and am getting a noticable lag with those settings. I am using LauncherPro, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

However, I again unchecked 'CPU Hog', and the thing is completely lag-free. It even no longer overheats the back of my phone. I'm going to stick with that setting for now, as I am not sure there is too much of a difference between the two.

Hide Weather Icon In Beautiful Widgets

Who wasn’t a little weirded out by the dual moon/sun effect while using Beautiful Widgets and Beautiful Live Weather at the same time? I know at least a few of you were after reading just a couple of the comments from our post on this fantastic new live wallpaper.
Well guess what? One of our readers came through in a big way again! Drew Richard created a weather skin for Beautiful Widgets called “None” which will hide the weather so that only your Beautiful Live Weather will display and those Event Horizon-esque moons will be back to normal. Amazing.
Obviously I’m biased, but Droid Life readers are the best on the planet.
Instructions for hiding…
1. In Beautiful Widgets configuration, scroll down to “Select Weather Skin.”
2. Tap on the “Download Skins” tab.
3. Scroll to the bottom, locate “None” and tap to download it.
4. Tap “Download.”
5. Once it finishes, move back to the “Installed Skins” tab.
6. Tap on “None” and click “Apply.”
7. Click “Save & Apply” at the bottom and then again on the next screen.
8. Done!
Update: Here is the “None” weather skin direct download: None.zip
To install this, extract the “none” folder and place in /sdcard/data/beautifulwidgets/wskins/
Fantastic work Drew!

You don't really want the Skins tab, you want to open up the configure menu, then scroll down to the bottom. Press the Weather Icons button at the bottom. "None" is in there.

When I click the "Download skins" tab I get "Loading skins list..." forever.

That is not the point. Unrelated to the wallpaper, the Skins download function is not working. It no longer shows the images of each skin. It is either a bug with the application, or the server where the skins are stored has a problem.

It took forever for me too, but they finally showed up.

so the wife and i both have beautiful widgets installed along with the live wallpaper. our settings are exactly the same but for some reason our lwp are moving at different rates. on my phone the sun set about an hour before it did on her phone. fwiw i'm overclocked and she is still stock. has anyone else experienced this?

Probably has something to do with the overclock. Put yours back to stock then compare.

Could you be on different sunrise/sunset standards in BW config? Civil versus Astronomical for instance.

Her: "Ha! Mr. I modded and overclocked my phone! Your phone can't even get the sunrise and sunset right.":rofl3:
Me: "Chadap" (runs to forum for advice)
