What is Beautiful Widgets and why is it so popular. Is it worth the price?

Others have explained what BW is. As to whether it's worth the price, I think you'll be puzzled by the loyalty expressed by so many users unless you understand that it was one of the early professional apps for the Droid and that the developer was threatened with a lawsuit for infringing on the look and feel of a similar app from HTC for their phones. Many BW fans felt this was unfair and petty on the part of HTC, promoting a feeling of loyalty toward BW that might otherwise not have been so widespread.

In any event, the BW functionality can be duplicated by various free apps and widgets. But the overall look and feel and capacity to be customized with various skins and apps called by the widget is, if not unique, at least rare.

I doubt it. The dev said earlier (perhaps in this thread) that the surprise would be in version 3. The update put it at v2.991.

He also stated that it would be a separate download. Can't remember if that was here or Twitter, but I'm sure we'll be sure what it when it comes.

I am still working on it. Probably tomorrow I'll work on touiteur though, then get back to it asap.

Btw, that will come separately from BW in the market, but they will work together

So yeah, it will be new and not included in an update. Might just have to check on the market on all of his apps that Tama develops.
But i am sure he will let us know when its ready.
