Beautiful Widgets is apparently no more

Did Beautiful Widgets steal the exact coding of HTC or something? That is the only reason why they would be forced to close shop.

Certainly not. All based on looks being very similar. I am wondering if HTC is going to refund my money. I paid for that app. They can't take it back.

It's pretty much irrelevant whether it's design elements, look and feel, actual code, etc. The problem is when a big company with a room full of lawyers goes after a small developer they win every time. The developer doesn't have the resources ($$$) to fight them so they end up caving.

I'll second what Cereal Killer said earlier: yet another reason to hate HTC (and my list was already pretty long).

AFAIK it is just the look. Don't think it is code. I have no idea if the case is winnable, but HTC is probably betting the developer will not have the money to want to fight it in court.
