Battery Not recognized???

Two days ago my droid x started displaying a message that the battery was not recognized when I plugged in the charger. It wont charge the battery anymore. This is the original Motorola battery. Whats up with that?

Well, I took it to Verizon and they are ordering me a new one. They couldnt explain it.
