It looks like Verizon is not above photoshopping pictures to make their point... In fact, most large companies employ this tactic daily. However, it's not this often that such a big error gets overlooked. In a holiday ad Verizon has a Droid X phone that shows a clear version of iOS maps instead of Google Maps.

We'll chalk this one up to a marketing department snafu that just didn't get noticed but I'm sure some conspiracy theorists among us will have different ideas ;)

LMAO! Thats hilarious!
Would it have been such a chore to open Google Maps on the X and take a picture? Would have been way easier than photo-cropping the iOS version into a simulated picture!

LOL, didn't even consider the "conspiracy theory" angle. Good stuff.

Doesn't this also subject VZW to false advertising claims? hehehe

You would have to think this was a subbed out job. No one who works for VZW could mess up this bad could they? Haha major oversight anyway.

sent from the great depths of my phones internet (thanks Al Gore)

look at any advertisement image of any device with a screen, and tell me if the image on the screen was the one captured on the camera. you won't find one. heck, look at the top corner of the page youre looking at now. you think that image was there when that device was photographed? Onscreen images make for bad product shots
