the only person who can clear the ESN is the original owner. You basically got worked over unfortunately.

If it was new it wouldn't of had a bad esn...looks like you got ripped off. If its a local listing I would file a police report and contact the seller about it.

It's not worth anything. You should call the police and hand over the sellers information and stolen property that you have.

Does it even work? Sounds like someone broke it (or bricked it, more than likely), used the insurance to claim it was lost or stolen, then sold you the bad phone to make some $. :frown:

In which case, it's not technically stolen, but it could be considered as such (esp. by the insurance company).

Who said It was stolen ? I said it was reported Lost or Stolen ! guy had 2 both were in boxes ! they had them buy one get one free just about A week ago ! as for all the upstanding & honest type people saying turn it in . Why are you on a Hacking forum then ? kind of double standards there right? I think he turned them in for the Insurance & sold them for quick $ yes it works all the charger & battery & acc were still in the plastic ! I will have My buddy who works @ verizon check it out ! but thanks for all the Imput folks !

well hacking is not illegal for one, the courts ruled that. So nope no double standards here.
