Backup to Gmail app help

Hi all.

Hoping for some guidance re: the Backup to Gmail app.
Been using it for 2-3 years without issue but when I got my new phone (S7 Edge) it downloaded just fine and recognizes how many SMS, MMS and call there are to back-up, but when I try to do the back-up, I get this:

As said, I've used this app for quite awhile but have never seen this and can't find a work-around or a fix.

Any help would be appreciated.

The authentication of your Gmail account needs to be updated or the app isn't sending it correctly.

SMS backup restore is a great alternative.

I tried that first. Didn't much care for it and the Gmail app syncs famously. I highly recommend it.

True. Not when it's not working. But this is the first blip. Every app has blips.

Uninstalled, re-installed.
