Background data...

Is there a way to make it so certain programs will use background data like my gmail for instance. But not Facebook and Twitter? I haven't been able to find a way other than to just disable background data entirely and I don't wanna do that. Maybe i'm just looking in the wrong places? or you can't do this. Thanks for any help I receive.

you might be able to find an app that can do that. When you turn off backround data, it does say some aps may still be used.
