autorun.inf is deleted each time

So I put an autorun.inf and a .ico file on the SD card so it will show up when connected to my PC. However, each time I plug in to a computer autorun.inf is gone, leaving only the (then useless) .ico file!

I am having the exact same issue with my Droid. I wanted to make display an icon so that I know which drive my SD card is on but the autorun.inf is deleted every time I disconnect my phone from my PC. Is there some hack that can stop the phone from doing that every time?

I hope Im not reviving an old thread. Its from the 10th of January which doesnt seem that long ago to me and the rules I found for this forum didnt mention a cutoff for posting in older threads.

maybe if enough of us keep the thread alive someone will take notice and either tell us about something that is already out there, or find something for us to do to fix this
