I have the Incredible and like to play mp3 audio books on it while I walk. Although the tracks are loaded consecutively, they play in a random order. I have the shuffle turned off.
How do I overcome this issue?

I went back over my phone settings and discovered that the shuffle was actually turned on. I turned it off and everything plays in the correct order now. I do have my tracks numbered
Track 01
Track 02
...
Track 09
Track 10
and so on.

Sorry for my confusion on this issue, and thanks for your inputs.

Hi Mike,

How are the tracks names and numbered?

Windows XP and higher has a technique that sorts numbers in order if the files are names similar to this

track 1
track 2
track 3
...
track 9
track 10

however, on most devices, if you use a numbering system like this for your files, it will play track 10 after track 1

track 1
track 10
track 11
..
track 2
track 20
track 21

and so on.

if you number your files like this, it should play fine

track 01
track 02
..
track 10

etc.

Bingo. I had the exact same situation with audiobook file numbering. I switched to Mixzing and it managers the poorly numbered files better than the stock music player. OP, give that a try.
