PSA If Your Nexus 6 Has An AT T SIM Card Your Android Updates Are Being Withheld But It Doesn t Actually Matter

Looks like att cant seem to keep their hands off of people's nexus. But there are many work arounds to keep big blue's hands at bay.

Yes.
But you can get around all that by taking the att sim out and setting the phone up via WiFi.

I set up phone then placed sim as PC stated.. But even with regular activation you get two Att apps you can uninstall.. Phone is stock Android at its best.. Who needs updates from carriers when you got a Nexus... Running 5.0.2 right now.. Blah blah to you AT&T
