It's CES 2016 this week, and you can expect a slew of new devices revealed. Of course, it would be impossible for us to cover all of them, so we will focus on just some of the hottest products in the mobile world. The first one we want to share today is a new Asus smartphone. It's called the ZenFone Zoom and its "claim to fame" is a massive camera lens on the back and the resultant enhanced capabilities that come with that. The phone was actually first announced at CES 2015 (last year), but it didn't come to market until this year.

The Asus ZenFone Zoom is slated to hit US stores in February of 2016 with a relatively affordable price of just $399. The camera capabilities are obviously the biggest feature and they include a 13 megapixel camera with laser autofocus and 3x optical zoom. Impressive for all of the shutterbugs out there!

Here's a breakdown of all of its specs:
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop
  • Intel Atom Z3590 Processor 2.5GHz
  • 4GB RAM, 64GB Storage w/ microSD card support up to 128GB
  • 5.5” FHD IPS (1920×1080) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4
  • 3,000 mAh battery (non-removable)
  • 13MP Camera with f/2.7-f/4.8, dual flash, laser auto-focus with 3x Optical Zoom and Optical Image Stabilization
  • Single SIM with 2G/3G/4G support
  • Dimensions: 158.9 x 78.84 x 5 ~ 11.95mm
  • 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, BT 4.0, and NFC
Sound off and let us know what you think. Is this just a gimmick device, or does it fill a legitimate niche in the market?
