Could this be one of the greatest value options in a new Android smartphone for the US? It seems likely...

Asus just announced their latest ZenFone 2 Laser 16GB smartphone will be available in the US for $199.99 "unlocked" (or $249.99 for the 32GB version)! Here's a breakdown of specs to see the solid value you are getting for that price:
  • 5.5-inch full-HD display - with Gorilla Glass 4
  • Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615
  • 3GB of RAM
  • Dual LTE SIM slots
  • 13 megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus
  • 5 megapixel front camera
  • 3,000mAh removable battery
  • 16GB or 32GB of storage with microSD expansion
  • Android 5.x Lollipop
While the processor may be "mid-range/budget-conscious" the fact that the phone has a good sized removable battery and a microSD Slot is sure to check mark a few boxes for many of our members. Also, we have heard very good things about the camera on this device being surprisingly good. What do you folks think?

It's very popular here in Asia. Unless VZW cut a deal [I doubt they have] with Asus, it's GSM only
