Tons of Moto fanboys in here. The Bionic's specs aren't that impressive to have waited this long. I agree with the person who said its a D3 with more ram and LTE. This phone is definitely not a gamechanger, rather a D3 with "bolt-ons."

With the Vigor definitely on the horizon, and the Bionic still not out yet, I don't see what the hype is about the Bionic anymore.


It's gonna be the next hottest thing out at verizon and a lot of people are ready to upgrade.
Also, the specs are gonna keep getting better every phone and you have enough posts to know this. Besides, if the next phone came out with 1.25 gigs a week after the bionic you would never see the difference from the Bionic's 1gig.

Nobody outside the internet really cares about your phone. I know my friends don't compare their phones to mine and I don't compare mine to theirs. Get the phone that makes you happy but don't discourage and heckle others for their phone choice.

I don't think most of you guys understand what a forum is used for. We're discussing the Bionic, we're discussing how it stacks up to other choices out there, we're not just criticizing it.

I think that's pretty relevant information to know when someone looks in the Bionic forum to find out whether they should pick up the device or not.

I know when I go to a forum to look for information, I don't just want fanboys raving on about how good a device is. I want unbiased opinions and discussions about other possible solutions if it doesn't meet my needs.

Its not the gamechanger it could have been. I have no problem with picking the phone based on your personal opinion, but to act like the Bionic is the best phone period is only fooling yourself.

It doesnt have to be a game changer to be a good phone. Why cant the Bionic just be a good phone to choose from among other good phones? Why does a phone have the be the absolute, monster specd out phone to be considered a phone worth getting?

The only real game changer recently was the Atrix IMO.

Its not necessarily you that I'm referring to. Its the blind followers of Motorola (of which a lot are in this thread), who don't care when someone calls out the Bionic. Its still a qHD screen and a D3 with more ram and LTE. Not very innovative, IMO

Yes, the Bionic looks like a great phone that will meet many peoples needs for quite a while.

What has me completely baffled is the statements that the GS2 "destroys other phones like the D3" and is "2 years ahead of everything else" when all evidence I have seen shows that OMAP 4430 is = or > than Exynos.

I am planning on buying the Bionic at the moment but I would consider the SG2, it looks great, but I would have to find info that it was = or > than the Bionic as far as reception, call quality and battery life. The only reception info I have found on the SG2 is problems with data signal and quotes like "adequate" reception. These items are my most important criteria, for many they might no be important and people should buy whatever phone makes them happy.

GSII doesn't destroy the benchmarks, it's just a little ahead of everyone else and it's clocked 1.2GHz (Exynos). Besides, benchmarks aren't everything. I actually don't even pay attention to them. The GSII has a WVGA SAMOLED+ screen. Great except it's not qHD.

The Bionic has the notorious Pentile display which people seem to be split on. The Bionic's processor is clocked at 1GHz which isn't necessarily a bad thing but is obviously not at the 1.2GHz of the GSII (Exynos). We know don't know any other specs of the GSII because we have no solid information on it. Not even the name is really known since it seems to have quite a few.

Point is....there is an argument for both sides of the equation (GSII and Bionic), so don't knock someone else for wanting either phone just because it's not what you want.

There are some not giving relevant information to newcomers wanting to learn more on the Bionic. First, the bionic isn't even out yet and the GSII isn't in America and to say the GSII is 2yrs ahead of the bionic is just plain wrong.
Second, is to say that the Bionic is old and outdate because of the scrapped Etna. That is not giving accurate information on the Bionic at all. But who would know, if they were on here reading all these different topics on the bionic. I mean most people don't even know about the Etna or the Bionic. So they come on Droid forums and read all the incorrect discussions about the Bionic and knowone really knows how it will stack up to other phones.
