OK, see now I'm worked up. The bionic back in November was supposed to be an awesome phone, so indeed yes I would have bought it. Back in February there were no other dual core lte phones so that phone would have been cutting edge for a while. Then they scrapped the famous Etna in favor of another phone, the targa. So again we were made to wait. April, then may, then June, then July, will it be here August? Nope September. So yes it is a HUGE let down(if indeed those are the true specs). Hell the f*c*Ing evo 3d at least has something cool like 3d(will I ever use it? No, but it does make for a rather nice party favor). I'm not coming from a storm 1! No pun intended preach. I want something as cutting edge as the og Droid 1. Not yesterdays news.
So for a company to be as ballsy as Motorola and have them expect me to wait in line for this thing and pay a premium for a phone with a horrible screen? No and I'm not just talking a different shade of green on a battery icon I mean my commador 64 had better resolution. The photons screen is utterly insulting.
So in turn after a little drunk rambling I'd rather hold off a month or two and have more dual core choices.

I think you are grossly missing the point! The specs would have been mind blowing months ago! To make us wait for technology that's been out for a while now and call it the best thing since sliced bread, give me a break. I WANT a new phone, I don't need one(thanks bugless) so yes I can wait. I'd rather give my money to HTC and their 720hd non pixelated goodness!
Thank you

So 2 months ago you would have committed to the thing for 2 years, but now you wouldnt? if the device had came out two months ago and you had bought it, would you be lamenting your purchase today? What's really the difference between 2 months ago and today?

Who said it was the best thing since sliced bread? I havent even seen any real promotional material or advertising at all from Verizon or Moto. The Bionic might be the victim of fanboy fantasies. It's as if everyone already has an idea in their head about the "perfect phone" that Moto is supposed to be building for them, and when they're faced with the reality of what the device might be, they're all disappointed.

The GSII, an "older" phone, already blows the bionic out of the water in processor power, and quality of pictures and videos. Several people have run all of the benchmarks vs it's processor (via the D3) and it's no contest. Motorola has never ever offered the level of detail or smoothness offered in sammys multimedia (go compare the d3 to the charge). I can tone down a sammy pics admittedly over-saturated colors, but I can't make a motorola pic more sharp or a motorola video less choppy. I just won't pay a premium price when I know better hardware has already been in existence for some time. I'm not going to go to vzw, find out that the D3 takes worse pictures than my D1, and then pay top dollar for the bionic. That would make me question my own judgement (after already questioning why moto couldn't fix the cam/vid between the D1 and D3). Sorry this is rambling, but there's just one too many things going on with the bionic to part with my hard earned cash.

And another thing!(told You I was worked up) the balls Motorola has to claim they have an even better phone coming out later this year that will kill the bionic and you want me to jump on this thing? I can't do It I'm sorry. I hope those specs are wrong I really do.

I think the biggest point here is, Motorola is refusing to fix the problems their phones have. They make 3 phones in a row with bad screens and bad cameras, 2 of the most important things in a phone.

For all we know the battery could be bad too and we know the CPU is already beat by the GSII, so what's the point?

Why get a phone with a low quality screen/camera, just so we can download faster?

Sorry Moto, we're not as dumb as you think we are.

Bad screen? Just because the same people say over and over how bad the screen is doesn't make it bad. If you count how many posts say its bad, its a lot more than say its good, but if you look at how many different people say its bad its probably pretty close, but the people who don't like it keep repeating themselves and the ones who don't think its bad don't repeat themselves as much. And I don't see anything wrong with the screen, I think its gorgeous. Some people prefer the SAMOLED+, but if I had to use that phone for 30 minutes i'd cut my eyes out with a fork. I thought it was awful. And ask the people who finally have a screen that they can read outside if they think its a bad screen. So in my opinion they've released 3 phones with a great screen and have nothing to fix.
As for the camera. if the spec sheet is to be believed(Which i don't i think it's an older one) the Bionic camera is actually a different camera than the D3 so we don't know how that will perform.
And for the CPU, if Moto is sticking with the 1GHz, that is pretty negligible overall compared to a 1.2 GHz CPU. And just because the GS2 beats the D3 doesn't mean it will beat the bionic.
If you think its stupid to plan on taking a look at a phone even though some rumors might say it isn't the best thing ever then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

I've just been thinking a lot lately about what it is I actually do most on my phone and maybe I'm not the majority, but most of my time spent on my phone is staring at the screen, switching between apps, playing games, texting and reading articles on websites that have no problem loading in 2-3 seconds with 3G.

I'm not saying 4G LTE isn't important, because progress is always important in the advancement of technology.

What I think has happened is, Moto has decided 4G is all that matters, so they've used old hardware(CPU/Camera/Screen) and then jammed a 4g LTE radio in a phone and said "hey look this is the first phone to do this". Well yes, theoretically it is, but it's also the same hardware you used in your last few phones and they're sub par in comparison to what else is out there.

I'll take a beautiful screen, a quality camera, software without bloatware and a great battery over 4G any day of the week. And I bet in real life testing(non-download speed tests) a majority of people could care less about their download speeds unless all they do is download movies, which is definitely a small amount of the market. I'll watch movies on my 60'' flat screen on blu-ray, not on my 4.3'' phone.

In the end, Moto is making a phone that is limiting it's audience to download speed freaks, it's like the road Ferrari that cost 150k and still uses roll down windows, is without carpet and has no radio, there's just no actual reason for it to exist.

I'm trying not to get overly swept up in 4g until it covers the majority of the places I use my phone. Therefore a GSII 3g could very well beat out an inferior 4g rival.

My area has great 4g LTE coverage, that's why I was looking forward to the Bionic because originally I imagined it having 'ahead of the pack' hardware, along with 4G, which was going to be great.

Now it just has 4G and nothing else that separates it from the rest of the phones out there. It's actually worse than 2-3 phones that have already been released in terms of screen quality and CPU tests.

You have to understand, I was dying to get the Bionic, when the Etna was revealed I was counting down the days until this thing was released, honestly, even when they switched to the Targa I was still dying to get it. But you can't sell a phone just on 4G, you have to be willing to improve the previous features that have been lacking in your past phones, aka the screen/camera/laggy scrolling ect...

It's like the same story over and over and they just added 4G and said woot new.
