Here's something quite cool that our very own FoxKat shared with us this morning. It's a website called Appsurfer.com, and it aims to help developers test out their apps in a virtual environment on the PC. The website let's developers upload their apps to the site, then users who are interested can easily use the emulator mode to try out the app in an emulator right on their PC. The site allows up to 200 free "runs" per month. If the demand goes higher, the developer only pays fees at a pre-determined tier pricing schedule.

It's basically a cloud-based Android app service for previewing and embedding apps. Very slick!

Here's a link to the home page of the site for you to check it out: https://www.appsurfer.com/

Here's a link directly to the apps portion of the site for you to try out some apps: https://www.appsurfer.com/apps

We also included a video above for you to check out the concept.

Thanks FoxKat!

This is a very neat idea and I can see it working great for marketing purposes... however, I wonder what's to stop people from uploading fake apks (of say a banking app) which is hacked together to grab the users login info. I hope people aren't that naive (to put their sensitive info in an app that isn't verified), but I don't see any barriers in the upload process that prevent that from happening.
