Apps running by themselves

Hi, I've had my Droid for a while now and I've discovered that it seems to run apps spontaneously, just sitting next to me on my desk undocked. Has anyone else experienced this?/ I constantly have to kill these apps!
The apps seem to be random...Visual VM ,Alarm clock, Corporate Calendar... Has anyone come up with a fix for this?? Thanks
