apps running amuck

Why when I make a call and hang up I find as many as 15 apps running? I have estrongs task manager and always hit the kill button before making a call. This really bugs me because I know I haven't opened anything up. It is a battery nightmare. Everthing from dphin browser to photo bucket comes alive. Any suggestions why?

Lots of apps run continuously in the background whether you start them or not. They shouldn't cause any negative effect on battery life unless there's a bug in one that's making it act up.

Otherwise there's nothing wrong. Don't worry about what's running unless there's a problem. The task manager is more likely to cause trouble than fix any.

A good number of the background apps are necessary for the phone to operate properly. Please, as stated above, dont worry about apps in the background unless there's a problem.

thanks for the info. Strongs seems to be helping my battery life.
The battery time lite widget is very accurate. A must for me.
